From here you can click into each individual letter of your text and edit however you’d like. To do this just select your text and then go to path in the top menu bar and then choose object to path. And it will convert your selected text or letter into the path. To create text SVG’s in Inkscape you need to turn your text into a path. Click anywhere on the workspace to reveal a text. You can also press Shift + Ctrl + C as its shortcut key. Press F8 on your keyboard after loading Inkscape to activate the tool that lets you create text objects. In this list, you will find the Object to Path option so click on it.

Now we’re going to grab the edit paths by nodes tool and use it to bring the bottom two nodes of the rectangle up further, then scale them outward to form the following shape…įinally, we’ll use the perspective live path effect to make the bottom half of the text take the shape of our rectangle.įor complete step-by-step instructions with voice narration, watch the following video tutorial. This rectangle will be the reference point for applying a perspective to the bottom half of the text. Once that’s done, we’re going to create another rectangle that matches the size of the lower half of the text.
